Challenge Update

Lastnight was the first time I got to play any $26 KOs to start this challenge. Things look promising as I only played two tourneys and finished 7th and 20th. The 7th place could've been a lot higher but I got involved in several marginal spots that were completely unneccessary. Today I again played only 2 tourneys, finishing 8th and 17th. So another final table. The level of competition is terrible.

I was chip leader at the final table when I made this tough/marginal call versus a very aggro opponent who had position on me.

Full Tilt Poker, NL Hold'em Tournament, 1,200/2,400 Blinds, 300 Ante, 9 Players

Pre-Flop: (6,300) Qs Kh dealt to Hero (CO)

Flop: (78,924) 3h 9d Ac (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

Turn: (78,924) Js (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

River: (78,924) 9s (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

Results: 78,924 Pot
Hero showed Qs Kh (a pair of Nines) and LOST (-37,212 NET)
SB showed Ah 4h (two pair, Aces and Nines) and WON 78,924 (+41,712 NET)

What went into my decision to make the call:

1. Villain had been very aggressive both before the final table and at the final table. It seemed he was applying pressure in spots and to stacks that would find it difficult to call. I was chip Leader and he was 2nd. Diffinitely fit the requirements

2. His range was huge at least 24% of hands imo. So I was basically flipping.(chk pokerstove)

3. I covered… if I lost the hand I would still have 11bb to work with.

4.Position… he had position on me, if I folded now I would still have to deal with him all through out the tourney just with a smaller stack

5. Stack to blind ratio… even though I was chip leader, I only had 26bb.Once I raise folded and blinds went up, I would have less than 20bb with a very aggro opponent to my left… not an ideal situation.

Had i won this hand i'm finishing top 2 90% of the time imo.
