Its been dificult over the past couple of weeks to find time to play. I have free time but all free time isnt necessarily the best poker time. I've been sick for the past weak and a half, i've had dates or my lady friend wanted to talk on the phone. Its been hard to find that 3.5 hrs of uninterupted time needed to play the 180s amongst these distractions.
Despite all the time issues i've been having, i've managed to make 2 more final tables finishing 9th & 6th, bubbled once in 19th and gone deep twice busting 30th and 28th. I've also won several $3 - $6 45 player tournies. Not great results, bankroll is increasing, but still haven't played really well.
I eventually want to play large MTTs so i will have to work out something with these time issues. The large field MTTs normally take 7+ hrs to complete.
Good News!!!
OMG THE MIAMI DOLPHINS WON!!!

Update
Didn't make my goal of breaking even on sharkscope for my 2000th sng. I came close but went on a bad streak. Just couldnt get deep like i was doing recently and took a lot of bad beats. Also played some when i was just not in the frame of mind to make good decisions... always a bad thing.
I've made two more final tables in the 180s recently but busted 5th both times. I will have to adjust my FT strategy and see if i can improve these results.
I have been meaning to update the layout of this blog for some time now and will try to do it this week. I will change up some content to reflect my current focus on small stakes multi-table sngs. I will also put up a replay video one of a $3/45 sng win and a $4/180 sng FT.

Best Finish & Bad Beat
Today I came 3rd in a $4 180 on Stars for a profit of $81.28. How is this a bad beat you ask? Well with 11 persons left i was chip leader with 54K+ chips. Blinds were about to raise to 500/1000 with 200ante (not sure about the ante) when suddenly my internet DISCONNECTED!!!!!I tried everything... rebooted my pc and the modem...NADA! Went around to my sister's house... not home.sigh.
I don't have a home telephone right now and the wait was too long to call the cable company from my cell. So i just found out tonight at work that I finished 3rd on sharkscope.com. Apparently there was some type of area outtage due to a broken fibre optic cable.Don't get me wrong, this was probably my best cash ever in one of these, but i really felt like i was gonna take this one down.
Sharkscope is a really nice tool. I was able to search on the top finishers in this tourny. Interestingly the top two finishes all play higher limits. The winner, some guy called Viphalid, usually plays the $20/180s and the runner up LargeJohn plays $22-$109 stts. I can't remember anything about Viphalid because i had not played with him. But I remember noting that LargeJohn was a weak player, obviously will have to re-evaluate that.I think i'm gonna subcribe since i will be playing more mtts and sngs now. I will try the 200 searchs for a flat fee of 8.99 first, if i exceed 200 searches in one month then i'll sign up for the monthly subcription of 14.99
I have some interesting hh, especially when i became chip leader. I will post them when i get home if my internet is on.I have to say i'm pleased with my results so far. Even though its a small sample Its encouraging.

April sucks!

The losing continues. I played awful at 100NL i know, but my play at 50NL was pretty good. I just had to fold a lot of big hands, got coollers and bad beats. I just feel sick about it. April's not supposed to be like this.
Tilted for the first time today when a guy called my 4xbb+1 raise with 85s in sb, then calls 3/4 psb on flop to make his gutshot str8 on turn which cracked my QQs. Fuck It. this came right after my 77 fell to AK on the river for a stack. I sat out all tables immediately. Also there was this one table where it seems every pot i was in the flop came mono. ok maybe not 'every pot' but something like 1/5 every pot played for 30minutes came mono or 2flushed. I noticed because i always had to fold a hand and i never had the flush card.
funny thing is during this whole thing i think i maybe lost about 2 or 3 buy-ins to tilt total. I would just play my sessions, and when i ended i would be supprise to see how much i'm down because i felt i played pretty good. But things have just not been going my way.
I read an old post by Brian Townsend on 2p2 the other day, in which he says if you're losing its your own fault don't point the finger else where. I will take a few days, let my head clear then re-examine my hh. I know that i'm making mistakes i just have to correct them. maybe play some donkaments on stars to pass time.

btw... thanks for the kind words Mark.

New Goal : 10K hands at 100NL
edit 04/04/07: what follows is one stupid dumbass motherfucking idea...
Not exactly a new goal.In my last post i said i was gonna play a mix of 50NL and 100NL... but from this moment on i'm not gonna play another hand of 50NL unless my bank roll drops to 1K... basically sink or swim.
I've been playing scared for too long, My original goal was to get to 100NL and play 100K hands there. So I'm gonna play my first 10K hands then evaluate the stats and see what i come up with.
My bankroll: $2150.00
I will likely start off with just 3 tables to begin with and attempt to play a more tagish game untill i get used to it. I will be providing regular updates.

Welcome to Pot Limit Omaha!
After weeks of thinking about it and saying i want to play it, I finally played a few hands today. I'm not sure how many because PT is only for hold'em. But the game is so easy. Make nuts and get it AI. Thats it!
And when i say nuts i mean the absolute nuts or very close to it. Drawing to 2nd nut hands seem a sure path to variance hell.
n e way i was at the office and decided to go on stars and give it ago... actually i came across a plo vid on CR then decided to go on PS... I sat down with 30.00 on a 50nl and max buyin @ 25nl.
1st Hand Sweet! This is a very strong starting hand in Omaha. TP + 2 nut flush draws... and a lil deeper; the Kh & Kc are still out there for someone to drw to the 2nd nuts. Perfect!
Good lay down? I think so.This is a nice hand to try to see a flop cheaply with... but facing a raise i could easily bet set over setted or be drawing to the non nut flush.
In an estimated 60 hands i more than doubled by bankroll on pokerstars; from just 61.00 to 169.00... could be just variance but i'm in love with omaha!

Feb. Resluts & stats
Ok here are my overall stats for February. I consider it a successful month except i donked off a few buy-ins playing 100nl.

My results by position.

My results by position.

Interestingly even though i'm tighter utg, its still the biggest loser for me. A quick review of the hands played revealed that i was playing for stacks too often oop. basically i should be going for pot control and not trying to jam the pot. Also i seem to really have sticky palm utg... I always imagine opponent is trying to put a move on me and end up bluffing off chips.
Junk hands are losing me 440.00... In review i've opened hands as bad as 52o and J4s. Just -ev hands. Axs is also a cause for concern as well as 98s. Interestingly A5s & 98o are my two largest winners... I may be over playing 98s.
I've also noticed that many of my really bad plays seem to be at 100nl. I just don't know what happened there. I really stunk it up... just made one -ev play after another. ugh!
March Goals
Rebuild my roll for 100NL
play 20k hands
perform regular session reviews
grunch at least 5 hands per week on 2p2
watch at least 2 vids per week on CR
put up a vid of myself playing 50nl on this blog
